“My connection with the NTC has opened up several opportunities for networking in the technology sector of Nashville. The organization has been very active in seeking out student needs, I appreciated their visit to Belmont’s campus for this purpose quite a bit. I felt very welcome at the InfoSec conference, an NTC hosted event, where I got to meet several of Nashville’s most respected figures in information security. It was here that I was introduced to Frank Platt, who was excited to have a student interested in interning with his company. Through the rest of the semester, we worked out an internship in the specific field of information security, exactly where my interests lie. The internship thus far has been an excellent experience. I am putting together the security documents that will be used in an upcoming audit. I will be using what I learn from this internship about security policy in my own independent research at Belmont. Thanks to the NTC, I now have a host of contacts that I can go to when seeking advice for graduate school, career opportunities, or technology questions in general.”
